Terms of Service
Last updated: June 19, 2026
1. Agreement to Terms
By creating an account or using StackGaps (the "Service"), you agree to these Terms of Service. If you are using the Service on behalf of an organization, you represent that you have the authority to bind that organization to these terms.
2. Description of Service
StackGaps lets you upload a software inventory file and generates a report identifying potential duplicate or overlapping tools and compliance evidence gaps against frameworks such as GDPR, FedRAMP, and SOX. The Service is provided for informational purposes to support your own internal review — it does not constitute legal, compliance, or audit advice, and does not guarantee compliance with any law, regulation, or framework.
3. Accounts
- You must provide accurate information when creating an account and keep your login credentials confidential.
- You are responsible for all activity that occurs under your account.
- We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms, abuse the Service, or pose a security risk to other users.
4. Acceptable Use
You agree not to:
- Upload data you do not have the right to upload, or that contains malicious content.
- Attempt to access another organization's data, scans, or account.
- Probe, scan, or test the Service for vulnerabilities without authorization, or interfere with its normal operation.
- Use the Service to build a competing product by systematically extracting its reference data.
5. Plans and Billing
StackGaps is currently offered under a free/manual-beta plan with usage limits. If and when paid plans become available, additional terms covering billing, renewals, and cancellations will apply and will be presented at checkout. Payments, where applicable, are processed by Stripe; we do not store your full payment card details.
6. Your Data
You retain ownership of the data you upload to StackGaps. You grant us a limited license to process that data solely to provide the Service to you (see our Privacy Policy for details on how data is stored and protected).
7. Disclaimers
The Service is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind, express or implied. Compliance scores and findings are generated from a reference dataset and automated rules; they are a starting point for your own review and do not replace professional legal, security, or compliance advice.
8. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, StackGaps and its operators will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from your use of the Service, or for decisions made based on its output.
9. Copyright (DMCA)
StackGaps processes software inventory data that you provide — typically lists of tool names — and does not host or distribute copyrighted content on your behalf. If you believe that material accessible through the Service infringes your copyright, please send a notice to [email protected] with the following information: (1) a description of the copyrighted work and the allegedly infringing material; (2) enough information for us to locate the material; (3) your contact details; and (4) a statement that you have a good-faith belief that the use is not authorized by the copyright owner. We will respond promptly and remove or disable access to material found to be infringing.
10. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. Continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
